Though Capcom initially called the listing of Mega Man 9 as a mutliplatform release an error, sources are confirming that that the upcoming title will in fact be released on Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network. The truth was affirmed when a recent trailer for the game showed it as slated for release on the both PS3 and Xbox 360.
This serves as exciting news to Mega Man fans without a Wii, especially those of the earlier adventures of the Blue Bomber. Rather than continuing with the trends that have been defined, (which some would argue ruined the Mega Man franchise), the 9th iteration of the series will be an 8-bit game similar to the NES titles released more than 20 years ago.
Mega Man 9 follows the Blue Bomber as he tries to prove the innocence of his creator Dr. Light, who has been framed by his nemesis Dr. Wily in another attempt at world domination. As in previous games, Mega Man will face off against eight new boss robots. Fans of retro gaming have a lot to look forward to, as the game looks, sounds and seems to play just like a classic NES title.
