Chrono Trigger DS is set for a November 25 release date - right before Thanksgiving and well within range of the holiday season. The DS port of the classic SNES RPG was announced in July 2008 just prior to this year's E3 convention, answering the prayers of countless RPG fans who have been craving a new version of the game.

Chrono Trigger is considered by many to be one of the best RPGs ever made. The product was a cooperative effort between then rivals SquareSoft and Enix, and had the benefit of talent from a slew of big names in the RPG genre. It sold more than 2 million units within its first month of release.

This success came despite the fact that the 16-bit gaming era was coming to an end. The quality of the game aside, many fans were a bit irked to find that the DS version is essentially a direct port of the original game, rather than a remake along the lines of Final Fantasy III or IV, also available for the Nintendo DS.
