Kratos may be able to battle the gods of Olympus, but even his strength and tenacity will not get God of War: Chains of Olympus into stores for the 2007 holiday rush. Sony has confirmed that the PSP exclusive has slipped into to a 2008 release. The delay will hurt what they hoped would be a very solid holiday for their handheld system.

Chains of Olympus takes the God of War formula and translates it to the PSP. While the button configuration has to be changed so it will fit the PSP version of the game, none of the moves or combos will be sacrificed. In fact, the developers have stated that most of the elements from the console versions of God of War will still be present here, with numerous upgrades and improvements.

PSP owners who were hoping to slash their way into new adventures with Kratos will now have to wait until early 2008.
